GIST: In 1993, a study on Retinitis Pigmentosa patients concluded that taking vitamin A supplements slowed vision loss. But in 2023, a follow-up study from the same institution concluded that vitamin A supplements are actually HARMFUL for USH2A, while for other types for Usher, vitamin A does NOT help. The 2023 follow-up study analyzed the findings separately by gene, while the 1993 study did not.
